Watched by an estimated 2 billion across the world, the Royal Wedding of the year did not fail to amaze us in the fashion stakes with about 1,900 guests invited to the service at Westminster Abbey and 1,900 critical comments too!
Princesses Beatrice wore peach Valentino with Eugenie turning to Westwood for her bold outfit choice, both sporting Phillip Treacy hats and also managing to make their way onto the worst dressed list with their crazy ensemble of designs and colour. The dressed down Samantha Cameron wore a silk crepe Burberry dress but with no hat or fascinator, only an orange scarf and hair-slide by Erickson Beamon to decorate her hair, she left everyone thinking that it was dress down day!
The best dressed goes to the obvious attendee Catherine Middleton who wore a stunning Sarah Burton creation two times on her big day. Best dressers included the below Lady Frederick Windsor and Princess Mathilde. Also on the list is Charlene Wittstock, the fiancée of Prince Albert of Monaco who wore a stunning fitted grey hat and coat combo by Akris. Sophie, Countess of Wessex makes my list too with a champagne embellished skirt suit with matching clutch, belt and a statement of a hat. I can’t fail to mention how dapper the Princes looked on the day in they Royal military attire and cheeky grins!
Other designers were failed to be mentioned on the big day, all being out done by the glamorous new Princess. Giorgio Armani dressed Lady Frederick Windor, HRH Princess Mathilde of Belgium and HRH Princess Tatiana of Greece and Denmark for the celebrations. Lady Frederick Windsor, for the dinner, wore a long Giorgio Armani Privé one shoulder dress in gunmetal grey silk chiffon with an embroidered feature on the bust in the same colour. For the Royal Wedding ceremony, she chose a Giorgio Armani Privé cocktail dress in navy blue silk cady, choosing to wear it with a short coat in silk jacquard fabric with a glossy/opaque checkerboard pattern.
