The Gents Watch

From Rotary

The chunkiness makes you feel so petite and feminine. The weight shows its quality and status. The design decorates your arm more than bangles and bracelets can ever do. It is classic, a watch you can wear at any occasion and with any outfit. It is timeless and will stay with you for a long time. Forget fine straps and diamonds.

The Gents Watch is back and bigger than before.

Vivienne Westwood Man SS12

Next year London will be hosting the Olympic Games.  Vivienne Westwood therefore dedicates her MAN SS12 collection to the event and to the thousands of athletes who will participate.

The gentleman sportsman is their inspiration.  This collection is not only about sportswear but what one could wear to attend the formal ceremonies.  Tailoring as always is the core of the collection.  This is the look you should wear to the events.

Dress up.

You will find references to the games’ iconography throughout the collection.Their athletes are dripping in sweat.  They hope to win a medal. Laurel wreaths which were awarded to the victors in ancient Greece remind us that we owe not only the games to the Greeks but our civilization.

Preppy sports sweaters emblazoned with logos of birds, gold Olympic torches  and flags from countries participating were sent down the catwalk with silk jogging bottoms and contrasting city shorts. Gladiator sandals were styled amongst peaked Mr T caps and smart jackets with textbook ties. Westwood manages to tie in the elements of sport and evening fashion courageously in her Man catwalk show, proving the two can unite fashionably.

The Mans Shoe

They all look great with the new chinos that are dominating the high street and making our men much smarter. They make the preppy city short casual and make jeans looks somewhat acceptable!

Be Smiley!

The Smiley Happy Deluxe Collection

“Smiley is more than a smile, it’s a spirit”.

Have you never heard of them before now? Who are they and what are they so smiley about?! Maybe it’s because they appeared at London Fashion Week for their first time this year, or the fact that their logo is one of the most recognisable in the world.

The colourful company whose range includes clothes to wallpaper, kitchen-wear to gifts, and sleepwear to cosmetics, promotes organic cotton and runs various projects in Columbia, India and Honduras, including The Smiley Fair Trade Project. Their aim is to be the voice of teenagers everywhere, representing emotions through the humor of smiley’s which they certainly do looking at their fab fresh and creative ranges. I love the fluorescent pink cashmere gloves, each with a smiley on the palm!

Milan Fashion Week

Fashion fix

New press releases from the Giorgio Armani Fall/Winter 2011/2012 Men’s show, which took place this morning in Milan.

Inspired by city life, Armani’s AW11/12 collection consisted of strong shapes, dark colours and varying lengths of jackets and coats. They were styled combining different shades broken up with a flash of another colour. See how the laid back look of the suit and the drawstrings on the trousers combines with sportswear for a more urban contemporary look.

The style of the season is undoubtedly gentlemanly with long flowing coats and fitted suits of an earthy and urban palette, however the futuristic look comes into play above with the mesh top and colour blocking.

This Matrix look exudes Armani style. Colours for the season include Camel, black and dark greys in strong masculine shapes…

Sunday 16th January:

The classic manly silhouette, of fitted jackets and suits, is interrupted subtly here with flashes of rich colour at every opportunity making the look almost robotically perfect…

The would be oldie looks have been reinvented to add a contemporary edge to the urbanized collection. These beige trousers perfectly combine casual, sporty and smart at the same time, settling somewhere in the middle with carefree turned down hat trims and shoes shined to the max.

Does anyone else think he looks like the tin man of The Wizard of OZ? Nonetheless this look totally works for inner city chic combining metallics and texture, the main feature of this outstanding collection. LLLB
