Summer isn’t over just yet!

If you haven’t given up on summer just yet here’s some inspiration to keep you going!

Nature designs such as birds are everywhere still, despite the A/W looks ruling the stores. Try this day bag and incorporate it into your usual weekend look.

Bright bold and eye-catching, these bangles make statement costume jewellery fun!

Wedges are my altogether favourite style of shoes, not just because I can walk in them whatever height, but because they look much more sleek and stylish than your average stiletto and go with anything if you get the colour right! This white pair are perfect for a staple summer wardrobe.

Do bright happy sandals make for a happy happy person? I think so! Keep your outfit plain and inject some colour from the floor and make what we have left of summer colourful!

X Factor Launch

Tulisa Contostavlos wears Vivienne Westwood Red Label for the X Factor launch at the O2 Arena

Yesterday singer and British X Factor Judge Tulisa Contostavlos attended the X Factor 2011 Launch at the O2 Arena in London . Tulisa chose to wear a black cocktail dress from Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label Spring-Summer ’10 collection.

With much controversy about whether she will step up to the mark and gain viewers likability, she certainly proves she is much the fashion icon as Cheryl was in this LBD. You have my vote!

NOT CHARITY, JUST WORK.

Vivienne Westwood and photographer Juergen Teller
campaign for a better world

Vivienne Westwood and Yoox.com have joined forces with the United Nations Agency, the International Trade Centre (ITC), in a new creative collaboration, which provides dignified long-term employment for some of the world’s most marginalized people while protecting the environment. This is a unique system of sharing talent, sharing skills and sharing responsibility for the environment.

For this season’s Autumn- Winter 2011/12 Ethical Fashion Africa collection created through the programme, Vivienne Westwood and the team were joined on their first venture to Africa by the World renowned photographer Juergen Teller. He has captured the project and the people to help support and promote the campaign.  ‘One of the things that really touched me on this trip was how Juergen gets everything from direct experience and really cares about human beings and their relationships. And together we can bring magic to those human relationships.’
-Vivienne Westwood.

The whole campaign will hopefully help promote the project and allow it to continue with maintained success for the future. Juergen Teller commented ‘I came back completely energized and full of life. It was truly inspiring to meet Simone Cipriani and the whole ITC team. It made a lot of sense to go with Vivienne to Africa .’

Vivienne Westwood, in collaboration with the ITC, have created a long-term objective to use fashion as a vehicle out of poverty. From the slums of Nairobi to the most barren rural areas, some of the world’s most disadvantaged women, marginalized by illness or oppression and the daily trials of extreme poverty, are empowered by this program. The Ethical Fashion Programme has already helped over 7,000 women to improve their lives. Without the income provided through the Programme, local communities would otherwise be forced to deplete the natural resources around them by cutting down trees to make charcoal to sell. The resulting deforestation is an international catastrophe.

‘What I do, making bags, can make a difference. This project gives people control over their lives- charity doesn’t give control, it does the opposite, it makes them dependant. These people have more control over their lives and can therefore choose not to exploit the environment because they have an alternative way of making money.’

‘Our project enables some of the world’s poorest people to enter fashion’s value chain as producers, while also allowing designers, who want to source ethically, to do so knowing their collaborators in the slums of Nairobi or impoverished rural areas are being paid a fair wage following the Code of Conduct stipulated by the Fair Labour Association.’
-Simone Cipriani, head of the ITC.

Global e-tailer, yoox.com joins with Vivienne Westwood to ensure the programme produces products which are truly ethical and made from recycled materials under conditions of fair labour, reaching customers around the world. Yoox.com is a welcome partner in making fashion fair and available to all.

It’s quite incredible to think that we might be able to save the world through fashion.’
-Vivienne Westwood.

The Look Show

So I’m entering The Look Show AW11 blog competition to be the best blogger in the Universe!! They have asked me why I want to win so here goes!…

Littleladylookbook is a blog for the real girl, I show real fashion and inspiring outfit ideas, all which I would wear myself. From my first little post blogging on Littleladylookbook about Mulberry’s new range during Christmas last year to posting about the latest crazes from fashion week I’ve sure come a long way. I’m sure my readers can vouch that I give them up to date information on the latest trends, new additions to have in your seasonal wardrobe that I know they will love, reviews and information about the latest hot spot boutiques (Why give all the big companies all the credit?!) all as well as little text as possible (If I don’t like reading I’m sure you lot won’t!) plus a few added extras from me to give my blog a more personal touch. How many bloggers can actually say they never take anything off the internet that isn’t theirs and hasn’t been given to them? Not many! I search high and low for the latest fashions to give you!

In less than a year I’ve gained a high profile on Twitter and developed my posts into what readers want – An inspiring picture and a little information – It can go a long way to influencing what a girl wears and how someone feels and that’s what my blog is all about. I even add a mens post from time to time!

Save a seat for me front row and I’ll show you how fashion can be blogged to the real girl!

I heart the pencil skirt!!

The pencil skirt is set to be THE biggest trend of Autumn so get your hands on the ultimate wardrobe staple now!

I’m loving this leather number worn with a white sleeveless shirt from Pied a Terre. Wear with kitten heels and any top you have! The best thing is, eveything goes with it!

Why not try this red version from Warehouse – add a leather biker jacket and snakeskin Blouse for a more sexed up ‘drinks after work’ look.

Great in the office and great at night, the pencil skirt is a trend that has come and gone but I think is finally here to stay. LLLB
