Velvety Coats

No sign of mint, or velvet, just ‘look at me’ coats for ‘hide me please’ weather!

French/Senegalese Model Sacha M’baye wearing Burberry

Arguably his best collection yet, Christopher Bailey stunned at the Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2011 Womenswear show yesterday. The polished collection, whose line of celebrity followers were out in force, has been named ‘Shrimpton’ after swinging Brit model and fashion icon Jean Shrimpton.

The collection which was paraded down a snow filled catwalk, consisted of sculptures silhouettes, volumised outerwear in English heritage tweeds, oversized crop cape jackets in hand woven high wool twists, flat front cropped trousers and window cut out dresses with engineered stitching. Detail was key and focs was on cables, leather buttons, leather rope martingales, gathered back pleats, luggage stitching and multi tiered cuffs and so much more!

It seems the celebs took to the iconic Burberry trenchcoat too for the show! His timeless pieces seem to be endless, season after season failing to impress, it doesn’t surprise me he returns with another fabulous collection for AW11.

The show ended with the army of wellie-clad models strutting their stylish selves down the runway. Now if that isn’t entertainment…

And the music: Someone Like You: Adele, You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me, and You Don’t Own Me, Dusty Springfield, It’s A Har dLife, Roger Daltry.

What a show. LLLB

The Leopard Trend

It can be worn for Day or Night, in any season and make anyone look on trend and fashionable despite what they have on underneath! The look suits practically anything with a rock edge be it stilettos or riding boots, dresses or jeans, accessorize the look to spice things up. The Leopard print coat makes its statement return season after season following fashion forward A-listers such as Kate Moss and Alexa Chung, confirming its place once again in the cool chart. LLLB

This Is The Woman

I have truly fallen in love with this coat! It’s so ladylike and feminine yet so powerful the way its draped over her shoulders. The contrast with the black tights that run seamlessly into the shoes plays on the crisp cream coat and makes it even more striking. FCUK Say about their AW10 collection, “The woman takes inspiration from birds – feathers, wings and nice floaty pieces that make her feel free. The woman likes detail; those special little touches that make her clothes feel unique; bows, sequins, drapes, frills and luxurious buttons, she likes buttons.” LLLB
